Mitt's latest flip-flop: Audit the Fed

Last month on July 15, 2012, I predicted that Mitt Romney would come out in favor of an audit of the Federal Reserve before the Republican National Convention.

Yesterday - August 20, 2012 - an article entitled "Romney supports audit of the Federal Reserve" has appeared in the Washington Times. The following is an excerpt:

Borrowing Rep. Ron Paul's presidential campaign push, Mitt Romney said Monday he thinks the Federal Reserve should face an audit.

"Very plain and simple, the answer is yes. The Federal Reserve should be accountable. We should see what they're doing," Mr. Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, said at a town hall in New Hampshire.

The writing is on the wall. The only thing useful Jon Huntsman had to say during his short-lived campaign was - "Mitt Romney is like a perfectly lubricated weather vane."

The political winds are blowing towards an audit, and Romney is just staying true to his past form. Expediency is Romney's bag.

Be weary.
