CNN Drops Coverage of Afghanistan U.S. Army Veteran

On Tuesday, January 3rd, many eager Iowa Caucus goers descended on their sites to vouch for their candidates and perform an important American privilege.  As the voter's eager feet hit the ground, the news cameras began to roll, covering this momentous occasion.  It was time for Iowans to voice their opinions to the rest of this great nation.  Well... unless you happen to be 28 year old Des Moines resident, Army soldier Jesse Thorsen.

Now, Thorsen did have the opportunity to caucus for his choice of candidate.  However, when CNN's Dana Bash inquired about the soldier's views on American foreign policy, the Ted Turner owned news station conveniently had "technical difficulties."  Obviously, CNN is trying to combat the likely censorship.  On the following day, the "news" organization posted a blog that suggested Thorsen should be punished.  The title of the blog: Army soldier rallying for Paul violated military ban on political activity.

Here is footage of CNN's Dana Bash interviewing Thorsen:

Following the "malfunction," Dana Bash sent out some tweets for damage control:

When the footage was aired on CNN live, YouTube videos were quickly uploaded that began to capture the attention of the public.  Several of the videos have garnered tens of thousands of views in mere hours.  However, this is not the end of the story...

Soldier Jesse Thorsen later appeared at the Ron Paul post-Iowa Caucus Rally, taking the podium after being called to the spotlight by the spry Texas Congressman.  As CNN aired the footage in an effort to make up for its earlier infraction, Fox News participated in the silencing of Jesse Thorsen's views by cutting away from the rally upon the announcement Thorsen was about to address the crowd.

Here is the coverage as aired on CNN and followed by the same moment on Fox News:

So, one after another, the mainstream media attempted to silence this young soldier.  MSNBC did cover Thorsen at the rally.  However, no "news" channel has yet to give the soldier further coverage or ask him what he thinks about the incident, to my knowledge.

While YouTube videos amass thousands of views, the MSM is considering the issue done.  They are acting like it is "business as usual" by ignoring the subject altogether.  Will the MSM's "Wall of Silence" censor the voice of Jesse Thorsen?  I don't think so.  This is an unacceptable practice in the United States of America.  They would not be questioning the young man's views or conveniently dropping his coverage if he were a supporter of Mitt Romney or the militant candidate Rick Santorum.

But, CNN's Dana Bash thinks this is over according to her tweet following the rally:

Thorsen later said:
"It was like meeting a rock star... you know?  I've been supporting Ron Paul for a long time, and I was just happy to... uh... be up there and actually meet him...  He picked me out of the crowd and said, 'Hey you!... You're coming up here on the stage with me!'  I mean... who does that?"

Apparently, Jesse Thorsen was telling Dana Bash the truth about meeting Paul.

I have a strong feeling that Soldier Jesse Thorsen will have a much larger following than McCain's Joe the Plumber.  Time will tell, but it seems CNN and Fox News are on the losing side of this battle.

Which candidate is the most supported by active duty military by donations?

Do you support the troops?  Then, make it a point to discuss America's Foreign Policy with a Veteran.

Was the MSM right to marginalize Jesse Thorsen?

You decide.

Maybe it's time to register to vote, if you haven't done so already.  Let's show the MSM that the American people are capable of making up their own minds.

Here is what Ron Paul had to say about the extraordinary support he receives from the military:
